The cakes that were probably mixed in this great old bowl...yum! The pattern is quite decorative with arches like a rainbow around the top band and larger, flatter arches around the bowl. This has been used. It is definitely a display piece. There are two hairline cracks on the inside only, one noticable chip on the rim (where the cook whacked the spoon too many times?), faint staining on the bottom and missing spots of paint around the widest of bands. The last flaw, though, I believe may have been prior to the glazing process, because you cannot feel any indentations where the color is missing, only the glaze.

It measures 5 inches tall and has a maximum diameter of 9 1/4 inches. It has a round base and you can see some sort of marking set into the bowl. Part of it looks like R. R.
