When I look at the young soldier, I see a young man, probably not more than 24 in his dress uniform going off to defend our country against tyranny. This a brave young man who recognizes our freedoms are worth defending, our families must be protected against oppression. The quote I found from Admiral Nimitz, overall commander of the Pacific War, has never rang truer. In this day of egos being in charge, I believe this is the true definition of leadership. I believe we also need that reminder of what integrity is. The picture and quotes are blanket-stitched to a piece of cotton ticking, all of which have been stained. The flag is attached to tan calico covered with navy blue stars.
The picture measures 12 1/2 by 16 inches and has a wood frame darkly stained. The glass is anti-glare/frosted.
