This is a lovely example of a stoneware crock. There are no markings on it, but it is a unique piece in that the floral detail is handpainted as is the rim and the knob on the lid. The outside of the crock has one hairline crack. The lid is what is usually missing on these example. This one does have the lid, though it has seen some use. There are 4 small chips around the rim of the lid and one knick out of the knob.
It is 11 inches tall and has a maximum diameter of 8 inches. It is a lovely, heavy piece. I just am out of room to display it!
